- Chosen by Voters Look up central auditory processing disorder. It sounds to me like you have a deficit problem. It's not a hearing problem, you hear fine, its the words entering through your ears, and then going to your brain trying to process what you've just heard. Get tested before it's too late. Tell your doctor that you need to be tested. Need a referral to a NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION. Do not let him talk you out of it, doctor's have a way of doing this. Take the test, it can only help you. Plus it will let you know what areas you have problems in, and how to fix those problems. Another test to take is go to a hearing doctor, make sure you let him know you have this problem, then he'll be able to give you a hearing test plus, other test that he has for a problem like this. Mst of the time, you'll know right away, during your appointment, real quick. I wish I knew how old you are, and how long this has been going on. I'll try to guess. your about 16 years, and this problem started when you were in third grade? If not third grade you had signs that you were having this problem, at what age did those signs appear? This info I just hared with you , is info your going to share with you doctor's.GOOD LUCK. DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT YOU DO OT HAVE A PROBLEM. Lastly, you cannot talk to your parents about this much, because they really don't have a "CLUE". Just remember that, only talk with professionals about this, know one else will understand you.
